Mandie + Brett’s New York Minute Intimate Wedding

Stolen Away on 55th & 3rd – Dave Matthews Band

I am a firm believer in being uncomfortable in order to create something extraordinary. Like any small business, my career has seen peaks and valleys. This wedding, however, wasn’t only a peak – it was Everest.

Mandie + Brett’s wedding was an editorial city lovin’ meeting of feelings and architecture. It was artistic, inspiring, and completely outside of my comfort zone in every way.

They fell in love in Central Park, NYC, so that’s exactly where they chose to say “I Do.” Most of the day was spent in Brooklyn though. They got ready at The Hoxton Hotel in Williamsburg, a stylish and intimate boutique hotel. Afterward, they met at the Huddlestone Arch in Central Park for their first look. Brett was so cute when he saw Mandie for the first time. It felt like time stopped and they were the only two people in all of New York City. Except for Lenny – a strange guy who came running up to them with a marriage license for them to sign and then promptly ran away.

After they saw each other, they walked to The Pool to say their vows in front of all their closest loved ones. It was quick, full of happiness and love, and the park became even more special to them.

After some family time, Mandie + Brett’s guests made their way to Brooklyn while we hung back for some additional photos. It was their first chance to be alone all day and it wasn’t wasted. They laughed and kissed a bunch and thanked every passerby who wished them congratulations. We were running late to the reception, so the 3 of us hailed a taxi and made our way to Brooklyn where their family and friends were waiting.

Their reception venue, Bridgepoint had an unbeatable view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Skyline. It was bright and beautiful and the weather soaked up every last drop of love that radiated in the air and gave it back to us in sunlight. Mandie + Brett danced, ate, toasted, drank and sang.

Since she started wedding planning, all Mandie wanted to do was Irish Goodbye her own reception then go party at Jane’s Carousel with their wedding party. There were no awkward goodbyes or tearful hugs. We just fuckin’ bailed. It was awesome.

Their love, this day, the vibes – unmatched. NYC: you have a piece of my heart. Mandie + Brett: you have an even bigger piece.
